Lovenox Common Uses: Lovenox (Enoxaparin) is an anticoagulant used to prevent the formation of harmful clots, especially after surgery. Lovenox (Enoxaparin) may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. DO NOT USE Lovenox (Enoxaparin) for prevention of blood clots (e.g., after surgery) if you have had a heart valve replacement, especially if you are pregnant. Enoxaparin may be harmful in valve replacements patients. Consult your doctor or pharmacist.

How to use Lovenox : Follow the directions for using Lovenox (Enoxaparin) provided by your doctor. Lovenox (Enoxaparin) is usually administered as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or clinic. Lovenox (Enoxaparin) is sometimes used at home as an injection. If you are using this medicine at home, a health care professional will provide detailed instructions for its appropriate use. Ask any questions that you may have about Lovenox (Enoxaparin) or giving injections. STORE THIS MEDICINE at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Brief storage between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) is permitted. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, contact your doctor.

Lovenox Cautions: KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using Lovenox (Enoxaparin). DO NOT STOP USING Lovenox (Enoxaparin) without checking with your doctor. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any medicines containing aspirin, ibuprofen, or naproxen. THIS MEDICINE MAY REDUCE THE NUMBER OF BLOOD CELLS THAT ARE NEEDED FOR CLOTTING. To prevent bleeding, avoid situations where bruising or injury may occur. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using this medicine. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF Lovenox (Enoxaparin) IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Lovenox Side Effects: YOU MAY EXPERIENCE BRUISING in the area of the injection, but this may go away in time. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience continued redness or pain after an injection; chills, fever, rash, or hives; pink or red urine; bloody, black, or tarry stools; or any unusual bleeding or bruising. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience leg weakness, difficulty walking, or difficulty urinating. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
